Naturally grown Shou Mei white tea from Tai Mu Shan 太姥山, the original and most prestigious growing area in the birthplace of white tea, Fuding, Fujian, China. Spring 2021 harvest from late April, classified as Shou Mei 壽眉, made from 2–4 young leaves. Grown using sustainable, pesticide-free methods (certified organic) at an altitude of 450–550 meters, from tea bushes reaching up to 1.5 meters in height. The leaves were traditionally air-dried for several months with no machine use, until the final steaming and compression into cake form.
A floral profile with a full body and notable presence. Dominant notes of osmanthus flower (桂花), with subtle spiced and smoky undertones. A mature and consistent tea with a smooth texture, low astringency, and a long sweet finish. Since it doesn’t develop much across infusions, it’s very forgiving and doesn’t require precision brewing. A perfect everyday tea: clean, nourishing, and ideal for starting your day with clarity and focus.
This tea is a blend of the two main cultivars in Fuding: Da Bai 大白 and Da Hao 大毫. Both grow on small trees with upright growth (chao mu), but differ in leaf shape: Da Bai has medium-sized oval leaves and plumper buds, while Da Hao produces larger, sharper-tipped leaves but with lower yield. The exact blending ratio is a family secret.
This tea is also suitable for prolonged boiling. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, boiling aged white tea warms the body and may help with colds and inflammation. This is general information and should not be taken as medical advice. If a therapist recommends boiling aged white tea, this is the type they refer to - not commercial white tea, which may contain chemical pesticide residues.
A natural, premium tea grown on its native soil, offered at the price of a basic commercial tea. Suitable for further aging in its original packaging (see storage instructions). Suitable for drinking throughout the day, in all seasons. The tea Pink’s parents drink every morning with dim sum, for real.
