About Our Buckwheat Tea (in Japanese: Soba cha):
Buckwheat tea has already become an unstoppable hit, now widespread worldwide and considered a superfood with high nutritional values and health benefits. It is naturally caffeine-free, making it suitable for drinking at any time of the day, including evenings or before bed. Its taste is incredibly rich and naturally sweet, with a fuller and heavier body compared to most leaf teas.Yellow Buckwheat is produced through an advanced process of breaking down and reassembling the plant, a natural extraction of the husk that contains the highest concentration of nutrients among all parts of the grain. The brew has a sweet finish reminiscent of biscuits or butter cookies (try it and see for yourself) and provides a satisfying and soothing effect on digestion.
It isn't the same plant variety of buckwheat intended for cooking, and different botanically (Fagopyrum tataricum). Our original buckwheat tea is made from the tartary buckwheat variety grown in the De Liang Mountains in southern Sichuan, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters and a unique year-round climate of 14-17°C. The seeds are harvested once a year in the summer by members of the local ethnic group "Yi Zu" (彝族 yizu) and are designated from the start to be brewed as buckwheat tea. Thanks to advanced technology and purely natural processing methods, the grain reaches a finish level designed for hot or cold brewing, preserving its rich and balanced flavor profile while maintaining its nutritional benefits.
Our buckwheat tea (Sobacha) is grown in a sustainable, natural environment (uncertified organic) and has been tested on our behalf at Eurofins Lab in Taiwan, confirming it is completely free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. This is the original, purest, and most natural version of buckwheat tea you can find.
Suitable for drinking year-round, at any time of day. Recommended to be served alongside desserts or after meals.
