Winter 2024 harvest of Gaoshan Wulong (high mountain oolong tea) from Dinghu Mountain in the iconic Alishan mountain range in central Taiwan. Do not mistake this for commercial, pesticide-treated tea from Alishan’s tourist-heavy growing regions (such as Milky Oolong), as this tea is cultivated with meticulous care, entirely pesticide-free and organically grown.
The leaves have undergone partial oxidation, tight rolling, and traditional high mountain wulong processing, without roasting. A fresh, green profile with a smooth, rounded body, a lingering fruity finish, and delicate hints of white grapes.
This tea is crafted by a young master we work closely with, a gaoshan wulong, producing clean and exceptional teas in Li Shan and Shan Lin Xi as well. The tea was tested at Eurofins Laboratory and found to be free of 539 pesticide residues—a rare find today, especially in Taiwan, where outdated and highly toxic pesticides are still widely used, many of which are banned in the EU and the US.
A perfect entry-level tea for those who seek for clean but affordable Taiwanese wulong. Best enjoyed fresh in its first year, from spring to autumn. Packaged in a 35g vacuum-sealed bag to preserve its delicate freshness.
