It’s finally happening! Due to growing demand over the years, you can now enjoy all of our new buckwheat tea varieties in one tasting pack to try them out first!
Buckwheat tea (in Japanese: soba cha), has become a popular staple across East Asia and is widely considered a superfood with exceptional nutritional values and health benefits. Naturally caffeine-free, it’s suitable for drinking at any time of the day—including evenings or right before bed. Its flavor is rich, sweet, and full-bodied.
It isn't the same plant variety of buckwheat intended for cooking, and different botanically (Fagopyrum tataricum), known as tartary buckwheat. Our tartary buckwheat is grown in the De Liang Mountains in southern Sichuan, at over 2,000 meters above sea level, where the climate remains steady between 14–17°C throughout the year. The seeds are harvested once a year during the summer by members of the Yi Zu ethnic group (彝族), and are cultivated from the start to be brewed as buckwheat tea. Thanks to modern technology and completely natural processing methods, the seeds reach a finish level designed for both hot and cold brewing—preserving the plant’s rich, balanced flavor spectrum and nutritional benefits.
Our buckwheat is sourced from its original growing region in Sichuan, western China, where this golden, nutrient-rich infusion was first developed. It is grown in a pesticide-free, sustainable environment (uncertified organic) and has been tested on our behalf at Eurofins Lab in Taiwan, confirming it is completely pesticide-free.
